This 5-room HDB flat underwent a comprehensive modernization that perfectly balances behind-the-scenes infrastructure upgrades with stunning aesthetics. This project featured a total kitchen overhaul—complete with custom cabinetry, premium sintered stone countertops, and a seamless transition to CityGas. To future-proof the home, a full-scale electrical rewiring and DB box upgrade were executed, while a last-minute decision to overlay the entire flat with wood-textured vinyl flooring beautifully tied the whole-house remodel together.

The Kitchen: A Full Culinary Transformation
The heart of this 5-room flat received a top-to-bottom transformation. We completely stripped the old kitchen to make way for crisp new tiling and fully custom-built kitchen cabinets designed to maximize storage and streamline workflow. For the workspace, the owners chose a sleek, high-performance sintered stone countertop, offering unparalleled resistance to heat, scratches, and stains.
Beyond the cosmetics, a major functional upgrade was made: we routed and installed a brand-new CityGas pipe line. Transitioning the home from traditional tanked LPG gas to a constant, piped-in CityGas supply ensures ultimate convenience and seamless cooking without ever running out of fuel mid-meal.
Whole-House Infrastructure: Full Electrical Rewiring & DB Upgrade
Safety and future-proofing were top priorities for these homeowners. Instead of working around aging electrical infrastructure, the decision was made to execute a complete house rewiring. Every single inch of old wiring was replaced to safely handle modern power loads.
We mapped out and installed brand-new, strategically placed electrical points and switches throughout the flat to better suit the family’s daily tech and appliance needs. Finally, the backbone of the home’s power system—the Distribution Board (DB box)—was completely replaced with a brand-new, modern unit, ensuring maximum electrical safety and compliance for decades to come.
Flooring: The Finishing Touch via Vinyl Overlay
With the primary renovation goals checked off and some spare cash left in the budget, the owners decided to make a high-impact design move: updating the entire flat’s flooring.
To achieve a cohesive, fully remodeled look without breaking the bank or dealing with the mess of hacking, we overlayed the existing floors with premium, wood-look textured vinyl tiles. Spanning across the living room, bedrooms, and walkways, the new flooring instantly erased the flat’s aged look, wrapping the entire 5-room home in a warm, seamless, and modern aesthetic.
